COMMISSIONS / VISITS
I am happy to accept commissions for new string orchestra pieces! I will work with you to compose a piece that shows off your orchestra’s strengths, offers musical and technical challenges that you feel your group is ready for, and stays within the technical boundaries that you define.
Let’s arrange a time to talk to see what we can come up with together.
I am happy to interact with teachers and students about any of my existing works, or to collaborate on new works. I feel like I am at my best when I am writing with a specific performing group in mind (most of my published works were written and performed first for my own ensembles).
Here are a few opportunities for us to connect with one another and give students a broader view of how making music is a collaborative effort:
Virtual Class Visit
I am available to meet with your class for a question/answer session via ZOOM or Google Meet (about any of my pieces). I am a teacher with my own classrooms, so I keep everything kid friendly!
If you are within a day’s travel of Rochester, NY, we may be able to arrange for a composer visit where I would rehearse the piece with your ensemble.
If a face-to-face meeting doesn’t work out, either virtually or in person, I can set up a question/answer session for you and your class on the Discord social media platform.
